Concrete Countertops Installation and Design

If you are planning to remodel your kitchen and are looking to redo the counter tops, there are many options. Concrete countertops offer a customizable, long-lasting and attractive appeal. When considering costs, low-end options are Formica and tile. Neither offers the durability of concrete. Formica is not particularly durable, and tile easily cracks and breaks. In addition, keeping the grout clean is an endless chore. On the high end solid surface counter tops such as granite and marble are attractive, more durable and easy to care for but can be quite costly.

Concrete countertops offer a very versatile option. Customize the counter to meet your needs. In fact, concrete can be made to look like almost anything you can imagine. It can be molded to fit virtually any space, and there is an almost unlimited choice of colors and textures. Concrete is a highly practical building material which provides a design aesthetic all its own. Transform a kitchen, bathroom or other space with the unique appeal of concrete countertops. Virtually any shape and style can be made and the highly customizable possibilities allow for creative design. Grind, polish, stamp, or stain it for added decorative touches. Contrary to what you might think, concrete is lighter than a comparable milled stone product and it is also quite easy to maintain. Consider that concrete countertops offer the advantages of granite or marble, but at a lower cost.

Sprague’s Ready Mix provides consultation of concrete countertops throughout the Southern California region. Along with our partner contractors we design, build, deliver and install concrete countertops for home and businesses. Contact us today to discuss your project; we’ll gladly go over the options and installation with you.

Our contractor partners can create your custom concrete counter top right there in your home, but if you are doing some remodeling, this may not be the best choice. Creating a concrete counter top can take up to two weeks with curing, grinding and polishing, plus application of the proper sealer (this is to prevent the concrete surface from becoming permanently stained). Normally, we will construct your concrete counter top at our facility, and then, in partnership with our preferred contractors, bring it to your home for installation.

Concrete surfaces are easy to take care of, but they are not 100% maintenance-free. It’s necessary to wax the surface at least once a month in order to keep it looking pristine and beautiful.

In addition to concrete kitchen counters, it is possible to create basins, sinks, fire pits – and even outdoor furniture from this versatile, inexpensive substance. It’s even an eco-friendly way to go, particularly at Sprague’s Ready Mix, conveniently located in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley California. We use a great deal of industrial byproducts from coal-fired power plants, blast furnaces and even oil refineries that would otherwise wind up in landfills, and employ mixing and cleaning process that reduce water usage.
